  (Go for it! 7A) U4 Where’s my backpack? (1a-1c)课堂赏析2 - Jennifer - 宁静致远

Teaching aims:

1. The students will be able to understand & use the following---

(1)   Words: where, backpack, baseball, sofa, bed, bookcase, plant, chair, table, drawer, dresser, they, on

(2)   Expressions:

A: Where’s the …?

B: It’s in/on/under the

A: Where are the …?

B: They’re in/on/under the ?

2. The students will be able to imitate the text with correct pronunciation.

3. The students will be able to improve the speaking & listening skills.

4. The students will be able to talk about where things are.

Teaching difficulties:

It may be difficult for students to understand & use the following.

(1)   Where questions

(2)   Prepositions on, in, under

(3)   Subject pronoun they

(4)   The pronunciation of  “dresser” , “drawer”, “bookcase”, “table”

Teaching procedures:

Step 1 Warm-up

1. Greetings.

2. All the students will read the title together to get a general idea about what we will learn today.

3. The students will have a revision about what we have learned.

Take out a backpack.

Three or four students will be asked to guess what is in the backpack.

A: Is it a/an in the backpack?

B: Yes, it is. / No, it isn’t.

Step 2 Presentation

1. Show a picture of a room with many things in it.

Two or three students will be asked to talk about the picture.

Present the words: backpack, baseball, sofa, bed, bookcase, plant, chair, table, drawer and dresser.

The students should pay attention to the pronunciation of “dresser”, “drawer”, “and bookcase”, “table”.

2. Show nine pictures one by one. Nine students will be asked to say what they are.

Step 3 Practice

1. Memory challenge.

Show pictures with different objects in them quickly.

The students will remember what they are as many as possible, and then say these objects out.

2. The students will match the words with the things in the picture. (Section A 1a on Page 19)

Step 4 Presentation

Show a picture of a box and a girl named Sally.

The students will learn the sentence “Where is Sally? She’s in/on/under/behind/near the box. (5 pictures)

Step 5 Practice

1. Memory challenge.

The students will tell where Sally is.

2. Pairwork  

Show a picture of a table with many things on it.  

The students will be asked to practice the dialogue below.

A: Where’s the …?

B: It’s in/on/under the

Step 6 Presentation

Show a picture of a table and other things which are more than one.

The students will learn the expressions below.

A: Where are the …?

B: They’re in/on/under the ?

Step 8 Practice

1. Pairwork

Show a picture of a table and other things which are more than one.

The students will practice the expressions in pairs below.

A: Where’re the …?

B: They’re in/on/under the

2. Conversation

Show a picture which is similar to the picture on Page 19.

The students will practice the dialogues in pairs below.

Where’s…?             It’s in/ on/ under…

Where are…?          They’re in/ on/ under…

3. Listen (1b)

The students will listen and number the things.

The students will listen to the tape again, read after it, and try to imitate it.

Step 7 Summary

Go over what we have learned today.

Step 8 Homework

The students can choose two of the homework.

Level 1: Read the new words and dialogues on Page 19.

Level 2: Finish the exercises in workbook 1.

Level 3: Groupwork (4 students): Write some sentences about your ideal study.
