《Changes in Shanghai》课堂赏析

Part 2 Tasks

Task1 Listen and answer questions.

1. Q: How many people live in Shanghai today?

2. Elicit million

  Elicit “building”: the building is tall.

4. Who makes building? Elicit “builder”

build+er = builder, say more words like this.

5.     Builder is a job. There are many different jobs in Shanghai.

Elicit office worker, factory worker, singer, teacher, doctor, actress

6.     Read the passage together.

Task 2 Listen and answer questions.

1.     Q: Was Shanghai quiet or noisy?

Q: What was Shanghai many years ago?

A.   It was a small town.

B.    It is a big city.

2.  Teach “town”

Then show a picture of Wuzhen /Zhouzhuang, and then make sentences: ____________ is a town. It's __________ .

  Show a picture of Ningbo, and say:

Ningbo is a big city. It’s big and noisy.

3.  It’s noisy in Shanghai. Many years ago, Shanghai was quiet .

Why? Elicit “Because there’s no ______.”

    Only a few thousand people lived here.

4.      Teach “a few”

       a few cars                            a lot of cars

a few fish                            a lot of fish

Then show some pictures, work in pairs

 “ a few / a lot of”,

a lot of people     a few boats

a few apples     a lot of buidings

5. Read the passage2.

附:Changes in Shanghai

    Many years ago, Shanghai was a small town. There were no tall buildings. Only a few thousand people lived here. Many people were fishermen and farmers. There was no traffic. Shanghai was very quiet.

    Today, Shanghai is a big city. There are many tall buildings. More than thirteen million people live here. They do many different jobs. There are office workers, factory workers, builders, teachers and doctors. Today, Shanghai is noisy.

 

        教学反思

本堂课是一篇语篇教学,通过猜城市引出课题上海的变化。从现在上海的规模,建筑的变化到工作品种的多样化过渡到以前的上海,形成了鲜明的对比,给学生提供了一个信息差。再从上海的变化过渡到学生熟悉的宁波,通过教师提供的丰富的素材,让学生了解到宁波也产生着巨大的变化。课堂有铺垫,有输入,也有产出。

课堂教学总体比较流畅,环节清晰,层层递进。如果能把细节处理得更完美一些,就会锦上添花。下面是本人上完课之后觉得略有遗憾的地方:

1.     过渡语需再细化。过渡语总体还是比较自然的,但是有一些地方还是显得有些突兀。比如:从Free Talk到猜一猜城市之间的衔接不够恰当。

2.     课堂调控能力还需加强。课堂调控能力能使一堂课更上一层楼 ,也能使一堂课更加出彩。但是这节课我的这个能力就表现得比较弱。比如:他们小组合作不够熟练,上课小组合作的时候学生没有围在一起讨论,有很多同学没有事情干。虽然是借班上课,但是如果当时我能在小组里做一个示范和讲解,效果就会截然不同,而我却有点束手无策。关于课堂调控能力的提升,我还有很长的路要走。

3.     板书。一堂精彩的课就要做到处处完美,不管是板书还是课件。本节课的板书不够美观,板书整体感觉有点简陋。板书虽然也比较实用,但是缺乏完整。如果能把课堂的板书设计成建筑,使它比较完整,最后把学生输出的纸条也形成一个完整的,板书就会比较完美。
